Only a complete idiot would drive out of their way for a $4 cup of coffee. In fact, you aren't too bright if you pay $3-4 for coffee everyday. You know how much that adds up to?

Funny how most of the stores closing are located in a handful of states. Texas had a whole page of stores closing! Starbucks is getting what it deserves, just as every other business that opens several stores at once all within a mile radius of each other! I guess the teenagers are having to decide what's more important--Starbucks or gas for their cars...Starbucks is just as bad as McDonald's w/ a freakin store on practicallyevery corner! I wonder how the Starbucks in Target stores are doing...when are they gonna close?

I do feel bad for the employees who are losing their jobs, but this is reality. Starbucks is a business and they can't keep paying out salaries that don't get them anything in return. It's not that the employees are bad or not doing their jobs, it's that there isn't enough work to go around. The economy is bad and luxury items such as Starbucks is one of the first things people cut out of their budgets. I'm sure Starbucks will do what they can for their employees because they are a good company to work for and do take care of their employees but they are not a charity organization.

Screw Starbucks and their overpriced crap coffe.. Most of the employees at SB are obnoxious teenagers who are just as unprofessional as any other fast food place. SB tries to make you think they are premium or high-end and make HUGE margins on their products. The same coffee you stupidly are paying $5 for -- these idiot teenagers are drinking all day long for free or throw away in a second if they get one llittle thing wrong.. It's all about DD!!

My son has worked for Starbucks for 3 years and his store is closing. He is married with a child and another on the way and the company informed him that they won't guarantee that they will transfer him. They said if they did that he wouldn't be able to keep fulltime or if they laid him off they would give him 2 weeks severance pay. He transferred to that store because they needed someone the customers would get to know and like to build a good customer base, now it soulds like the company is more concerned with money than there people. I thought that they were a good company to work for???

This type of business can only prosper in a good economy. People just don't have money for that anymore. Besides, their product is very over rated...

What is the all the hype about this new drink???????? You can get the SAME THING in a package at the food store for .69 cents!!! Go to the fruit isle, and there are pacakges by Concord Foods for all sorts of fruits. I make them at home all the time. For a little over a dollar (with the fruit) I can make the same drink for 3 people that I tried yesterday (which was 1/2 of a usual glass full) for Four Freakin Dollars! Lesson Learned Here!!!

Hmm - a 39 oz can of Folgers for $1.95 (the price of a venti coffee at Starbucks) - really? I agree that Folgers makes a decent coffee, but 39 oz costs about $13 at the markets around here. Plus, then there's the cream and sugar, if you use it - which is free at Starbucks, as at most places where you buy coffee drinks.
